On the 20th February Ken Robertson is promoting the traditional season opening springtime pursuit races, in conjunction with this event he is also organising a womens only race. The race will take place on the old A30 on a gently rolling course, the distance is 32 miles. Entry details can be found by following this link, British Cycling, which takes you to the national calendar. This event is the first in a series of three which take place on consecutive Saturday's, Ken requires ten entry's for the dedicated event to go ahead. In the event that this is not achieved entry's will be transferred to the ability based open race. The south west region believes that there is a need for dedicated women's events but we need a critical mass of people to encourage promoters to hold further events. Please circulate this information to your club mates and encourage them to participate. Dedicated women's events are also held regularly at the closed road circuit at Ilton airfield from March to September and there is a series of four 4th cat and women's events programmed for Brentor Tavistock in August. If you need anymore info let me know. Thanks Andy. Andy Parker Mobile 07940302224 |
